1.3.2 Integrating Opposing Arguments

Today's lesson will be about:

Objectives
You will be able to:
  • Identify the most commonly used persuasive strategies in academic writing.
  • Predict and refute potential opposing arguments in argumentative essays.
  • Refine the outline with integrating opposing arguments in argumentative essays. 



Homework
Think of what opposing arguments that you can include in the argumentative essay (at least 1). Choose on outline that you like better, and fill it out with your ideas. 
*Name the file, "Diagnostic outline_Your First Name"
*Upload the file on Google Drive>>>Unit1. Argumentative Essay.
*Due date and time: Feb, 9 (Mon), 3:00 pm sharp.  

Homework Instruction
1. Open your diagnostic essay and review.
2. Look back 2 outlines that we covered in class on last Friday (check PPT linked above).
3. Choose one of  them and add opposing argument(s) on the outline (at least 1 opposing argument).
4. When you add the opposing argument(s), your PIE should be revised as presented on the chart below.
